The company does also export products from its range into Canada, the United States of America, Russia and Europe. As a manufacturer of underground drilling equipment, utility vehicles and earth moving equipment, our products must meet stringent SHREQ requirements. AARD is proud of our safety record and our ISO and OSHAS compliance\. Audit equipment and provide detailed reports to the client’s engineering personnel; and. AARD provides service exchange axles, transmissions, convertors, brake heads and engines; and. AARD can provide its own service exchange components or those that are company specific. AARD provides assistance to clients on new projects, determining budgets, cost estimates and TM3 equipment costs related to the life of mine. At AARD we have a skills development programme in place to ensure the necessary internal training takes place in line with our Workplace Skills Plan (WSP). Our training centre at Chamdor is also MERSETA-accredited. Our trainers provide operator training for all our equipment at the customer’s premises. AARD has technical training programmes for all its equipment and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) components. The training programmes include training in the maintenance and service of all equipment and components. Technical training can either be done at the customer’s premises or at AARD’s training centre at Chamdor. AARD has a well-established apprenticeship programme in which 14 (including four women) apprentices are continuously being trained. The majority of these are HDSAs and a good representative sample of the country’s demographics. The business was established in 1983 as part of the Boart Longyear group of companies. However, the company also exports products from its range into Canada, the United States of America, Russia and Europe. AARD is well represented in the field by a number of branches and satellite warehouses, and in sub-Saharan Africa by subsidiaries in both Zambia and Zimbabwe. We carry a full range of spares and major components for our product range and, with satellite warehouses in Kuruman, Steelpoort, Rustenburg and at some mines, we are able to make spares available on a 24/7 basis. We do modifications according to the requirements of our customers. Teams of field service technicians and trainers operate out our Kuruman, Steelpoort and Rustenburg branches to service clients’ equipment. Spare parts and components are available around the clock and our service teams will make arrangements to deliver outside normal business hours, in accordance with customer requirements.
