Auto Commodities Pty Ltd was established in 1995 by Daan Joubert when he purchased the depot from Shell and re-established it as an essential service provider which as its main aim supplies, transport companies with diesel, paraffin and oil. This service is further extended to consumers and businesses in the immediate area.
It is the aim of Auto Commodities Pty Ltd to continually provide excellent service and quality products. Auto Commodities markets and distributes automotive fuels and lubricants into the commercial and retail sector, based in Krugersdorp.

The original facility was acquired from Shell in 1995 which had storage capacity of 4 million litres for fuels and warehousing for lubricants. A rail siding allows flexibility for receiving 4 block loads of up to 1.5 million litres per block load at a time. Auto Commodities has a supply and off-take agreement with GroCat. Growth in volumes out of Matola has reached the 20 million litre per month mark of which Auto Commodities has a great contribution. The current volumes out of Krugersdorp is growing every day and with an additional Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Congo market waiting, Auto Commodities will be within the next few years, in the 600 million litres per annum region. Auto Commodities and AGO depot is the largest privately owned storage facility in the RSA, and with the clean fuels charter on the horizon, and ageing refineries in S.A, importation of low sulphur fuels is imminent. Auto Commodities can offer their customers a constant sustainable supply of quality fuels, based on their experience of fuel distribution and storage capabilities throughout the entire RSA. Shell Diesel Extra is specially formulated to help deliver fuel savings over the lifetime of your vehicle. It uses advanced Shell fuel technology and specifically developed unique additives to help maintain engine operating efficiency by preventing deposit build-up in injector nozzles. Customer trials have confirmed these results and in some cases, higher fuel savings were achieved. It is important to note that the ongoing benefits of Shell Diesel Extra require consistent filling of Shell Diesel Extra. The combined depot facility has 18 million litres of storage with a rail siding and road vehicle gantry. As a member of the Road Freight Association of SA, Auto Commodities has strong relationships in the road transport sector with all the major operators, to assist in the servicing of these markets.
