Our company comprises a team of proficient grow-room manufacturers who provide their services and expertise to meet your barley/oats growing requirements. The original manual growing system is simple in design, needs very low maintenance and little technical support, has a low input cost and uses minimum labour. The excessive current cost of concentrated protein feeds and the alternative expensive green feed-growing solutions in the market today necessitated this local design. We take pleasure in catering for your unique needs and requirements, but also offer standard product solutions. The products for producing your own daily aeroponic barley/oats green feed in the dairy and beef feedlot units, the horse, sheep, pork and chicken industries, zoos, petting zoos and game farms are listed in the product tab. This technology could also be used for soilless propagation of sprouts, flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables. We cater for your personal needs and no project is too small or too big for us. SA SEDA’s vision since 2002 is the creation of a just, equitable and prosperous South African society through the implementation and management of sustainable employment-development projects. In view of South Africa’s vast developmental challenges, and specifically the increasing occurrence of unemployment, SA SEDA is well positioned to respond in this regard in a meaningful manner. More than ever before, new development and business models are required that will result in the creation of sustainable employment opportunities and an improvement in the quality of life of disadvantaged communities throughout the country. SA SEDA’s approach, with its core focus on developing projects that will be nurtured until they reach sustainability, has the potential to make a lasting impact on the unemployment situation in the country, while also building skills, capacity and infrastructure in communities, which will ensure local ownership and long-term income-generating opportunities. Hydroponics is the science of growing plants in water. This practice has proven to be financially, as well as environmentally, profitable and advantageous for the farmer. A hydroponically produced crop is a crop that is grown in a medium other than natural soil. In essence, hydroponic fodder (hydroponically grown cereal plants) is produced by the germination and sprouting of grain seeds (e.g. malt barley or oats) into superior quality, highly nutritious and disease free fodder. First and foremost, a controlled environment is required. The higher the degree of control, the more successful the production will be. In this growing unit, water is used to produce the green fodder. The crude protein and metabolisable energy content of the green fodder is highly digestible. Aeroponics is the process of growing plants in an air or mist environment without the use of soil or an aggregate medium. Aeroponic culture differs from both conventional hydroponics and in-vitro (plant tissue culture) growing. Unlike hydroponics, which uses water as a growing medium and essential minerals to sustain plant growth, aeroponics is conducted without a growing medium. Because water is sometimes used in aeroponics to transmit nutrients, it is sometimes considered a type of hydroponics.
