plastic Injection moulding, blow moulding, tool and die making.

The Company has remained a family business and has since developed into a major player in the Injection and Blow moulding industry. Efficient manufacturing processes ensure that we offer competitive pricing and guaranteed quality. This will ensure that your enquiries and orders are handled efficiently and timeously. Blow moulding is a process used in making hollow plastic parts. There are three main types of moulding: injection blow moulding, stretch blow moulding, and extrusion blow moulding. The idea behind this type of moulding comes from glass blowing. In 1938, they produced a blow moulding machine, which they then sold to the Hartford Empire Company, kicking off the commercial use of blow moulding. Then compressed air is pumped into the preform, inflating it into its final shape. This process begins with a preform being made as done in the injection method. Then it is blown with high pressure air using metal blow moulds. The parison is then enclosed in a cooled metal mould. In continuous extrusion moulding, the parison is continuously extruded, with individual parts being cut out. With intermittent extrusion moulding, a machine injects melted plastic into the parison part by part. Plastic Injection Moulding, along with extrusion ranks as one of the prime processes for producing plastics articles. is a process of shaping plastic by melting it and injecting it into a predesigned mould. This process differs from metal die casting in that molten metals can simply be poured; plastic resins must be injected with force. The process starts with a mould, which is clamped under pressure to accommodate the injection and cooling process. The resins then fall into an injection barrel, where they are heated to a melting point, and then injected into the mould through either a screw or ramming device. The polymer is injected into a mould tool that defines the shape of the moulded part. The costs associated with tool manufacture means that plastic injection moulding tends to lend itself to high volume manufacture. As a class of machinists in the manufacturing industries, a tool and die maker can create and build jigs, fixtures, dies, moulds, machine tools, cutting tools, gauges, and other tools used in manufacturing processes. The tool room at PM Manufacturing has been upgraded and now has the latest machinery and software to ensure superior quality tools and dies. At PM Manufacturing, we have extensive experience as tool and die makers, and have invested substantially in cutting edge technology and highly skilled staff to ensure precision engineering. Tool and die makers are an essential part of the manufacturing process in a large number of industries and is a highly sought after skill in custom precision projects.
